  • 2018 Highland Ridge RV With City Water Filling Fresh Water Tank
  • A backflow preventer like the Camco RV Fresh Water System Backflow Preventer - 1/2" Diameter - Brass # CAM23303. will allow water to flow only in one direction so that your fresh water tank doesn't fill up from water backfilling into it from your city water connection. If your connection requires a double male pipe thread connector then # P23415LFVP will be a good option. Included is a video overview with additional information.

  • Troubleshooting A Loud Fresh Water Pump
  • RV water pumps are known to be noisy but if it's excessive you can try using the Valterra RV Water Pump Silencing Kit - (2) 36" Long Hoses - 1/2" Diameter Item # P23512PB to quiet it down. If that doesn't work you can also add in an in-line accumulator tank to help but this is a pricier option. If you would like to replace your current water pump the Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump - 12 Volt - 3.0 Gallons Per Minute - 45 PSI Item # LC689052 is known to be one of the quieter brands.

  • Can I Adjust the Water Pressure on the HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump # P25201 While Running
  • I spoke to my contact at Valterra and he does not recommend adjusting the pressure on the HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump - 12 Volt - 3 Gallons Per Minute - 55 psi # P25201. He said that they come from the factory adjusted where they should be for best results. He did think that there may be an obstruction in the water tank causing the water flow to be less than it should. He said that you would want to make sure the water line is clear to the tank and that there is nothing in the tank that...

  • Replacement Water Lines and Fresh Water Inlet for Pop Up Camper
  • We do have water inlet fittings, like the Valterra Water Inlet for RVs # A01-0176LFVP, that would replace the entry fitting on the outside of your pop up camper if you decide to replace that fitting. To replace the water lines inside/under your camper, typically PEX pipes and fittings are used to make those connections. We do not have these available for purchase, but they are usually available at your local hardware store.

  • Adjusting Pressure on HydroMax Water Pump
  • While the HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump, # P25201 can be adjusted, the Tech Rep at Valterra recommends against doing so stating that the units are set at the factory for best results. You will want to adjust the By-Pass spring by turning the screw. Screwing the by-pass screw in will raise the pressure and unscrewing the by-pass screw counterclockwise will lower the pressure.

  • Troubleshooting Water Pump with Air Causing Spitting and Sputtering
  • The Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump - 12 Volt - 3.3 Gallons Per Minute - 45 PSI # LC689052 sounds like it doesn't have a proper priming which it is designed to automatically do. There are some things to check in the owners manual that I've made a copy of to assist. Check each one of these suggestions one at a time to narrow down the possible causes. I'd also turn off the bypass to your hot water heater as that fitting may be the issue, so check it both ways.

  • Heated Drinking Water Hose Power Cord Lengths Available
  • It sounds to me like the extension cord you're using or the power cord for the Camco RV Heated Drinking Water Hose # CAM22903 has a short in it or that you're overloading the breaker. I would first test hose without the extensions cord to see if it is working, if not then the short is with the power cord of the hose. If it does work then it could be the extension cord or the breaker having too much drawing on it at once causing it to trip. The AquaFresh Heated Drinking Water Hose for...

  • Troubleshooting RV Water Pump that was Ran Dry And Now Has Low Water Pressure
  • Sounds like your water pump lost it's prime since you ran it dry. I can help you try priming the system with the steps below. If that doesn't help you may have a blockage or need a new pump. Fill up your fresh water tank. Turn on the cold water in your RV and make sure the faucets are completely open. Switch on the water pump near your RV water tank. This should prime the pump by pushing water up from the tank through your faucet. Let the water flow a while, then turn the faucets off....

  • Troubleshooting Water Back Flow When Filling Fresh Water Tank On a 2019 Jayco Jay Flight SLX Baja
  • All of the fresh water tank fillers like the Valterra # A01-0031VP you found are only going to have a short amount of hose. I recommend removing the access panel to access the hose which travels from your inlet to the fresh water tank. It may have a kink or need to be replaced so the water will no longer back flow out of the inlet unless the tank is full. As campers do not always have the best build quality they may have installed a hose which is to short or long which caused a kink and...

  • Troubleshooting Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer
  • The Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer, # 324-000119 will easily take an hour or more to reach set temperature, depending on ambient temp at start. It will always get cold in the freezer first and is best to check operation of a full refrigerator, not empty. This is most easily be accomplished by simply placing containers of water in the refrigerator. Please check to ensure that all coils and vents are clean allowing full air flow. If these items do not resolve for an improved temp...

  • Troubleshooting E.C Error Code With Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater
  • Sediment build-up may also causing you to continually receive the E.C error code on your Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB44FR. Since your unit is pretty new it is unlikely but I would try and rule everything out first before replacing the unit or buying anymore replacement parts. You also might also consider installing a Camco RV and Marine Disposable Water Filter w/ Hose Protector # CAM40043 which will remove aluminum, bacteria, bad taste, cadmium, chlorine, fungus, heavy metals,...

  • Troubleshooting Low Pressure With A Flow Max RV Fresh water Pump
  • The first thing to always check is the power and ground when it comes to anything electronic. Double-check that you're actually getting a full 12 volts to the pump # LC689052 with a multimeter # PT89ZR. If not then the power source is the issue and can cause the the pump to partially work, like you've been experiencing. When you winterized your trailer last fall did you run all of the water out of the line? This pump is safe to run dry so you could empty the tank and turn on the pump...

  • Troubleshooting Backflow From The City Water And Holding Tank Water Inlets
  • Depending on how your plumbing is setup you could have a check valve at the water inlets and also in certain spots throughout the system. On my dad's fifth wheel he has specific valves he has to shut off or on depending on whether he's using city water or holding tank water. I recommend first replacing the city water inlet since that one should have a check valve attached to it. We have a variety of options like the RV City Water Inlet with Brass Check Valve # 37262165, which has a 1/2"...

  • Why Does a Trailer Hitch Start to Rust After 3 Years
  • Oxidation occurs on steel if subjected to the proper conditions. If the hitch was never outside, never wet, and never exposed to salt brine used to treat snowy roads then theoretically it should not rust. What starts rust normally is the protective powder coat being scratched away which is bound to happen in the process of using the hitch. You can sand away the rust and apply some primer or paint to stop the corrosion from spreading. If the hitch does get salt brine on it or sea water...

  • Fresh Water Pump Randomly Comes On without any Faucets Running in Trailer
  • The first thing I would do is check for leaks. It is possible, even though the trailer was winterized, something froze and cracked. It may not be a bad leak but a leak nonetheless could cause the system to steadily lose pressure which would make the pump run. Since pump # P25201 is automatic it would either be that (loss of pressure) or an electrical issue. You can check the connections and clean any corrosion or debris away. Corrosion could cause a short and make the pump run. I can't...

  • Troubleshooting Tips For A Generator That Won't Start
  • If your 4,500-Watt Portable RV Generator # 333-0005 is not wanting to start you can try the following troubleshooting steps: 1. Fuel selector switch set to OFF (O) position. Set the fuel selector to either GAS or LPG. 2. The indicator light is OFF or flashing red. The indicator needs to solid red to start the engine, turn the fuel selector switch to the off position and then back to either GAS or LPG. 3. Low oil level. Fill the crankcase to the oil fill line and ensure the generator is...

  • Replacement Bearing Buddy Grease Caps for Boat Trailer Used in Salt Water
  • It is possible to over-fill a hub when a Bearing Buddy is in use because they make it so easy to pump in wheel bearing grease. Usually the victim of an over-filled hub is the inner grease seal, however, not the Bearing Buddy itself. You'd blow out your inner seal long before you'd push off a Bearing Buddy in normal circumstances. You may have installed the wrong size, or not fully seated them in the hub bore. If your inner grease seals are still intact (no obvious grease leakage) then...

  • Troubleshooting the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater, Low Water Pressure
  • Your Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater, # LSB64FR requires a minimum water pressure to operate, ideal is 40-45 PSI but should still work below 20. If you have water pressure much below that, or it fluctuates dropping much below, this is probably your issue. I suggest you consider the Camco RV Water Pressure Regulator, # CAM40064 to keep the water pressure in the 40 PSI to 50 PSI range.

  • Troubleshooting City Water Low Pressure At A Campsite
  • The Seaflo Submersible Utility Pump for Boats and RVs # SE54FR is a water pump and is designed for short intermittent use so it wouldn't really increase the pressure for your RV how you're needing it to. You would instead need to install a higher GPM and PSI rated water pump than what you currently have and/or an accumulator tank like the Seaflo Accumulator Tank for RV and Boat Water Pumps # SE38FR to increase the pressure. If you're running off of city water pressure from the campground...
